The star has won legions of fans in the jungle with his wit and tales of his long-lasting romance with Sandra,

He even left his campmates in tears when he likened their marriage to ‘winning the lottery’.

Sandra, who has jetted to Australia, might have to wait a while before being reunited with her husband however, as the sporting legend is the favourite to go all the way and win the series, according to Betfair.

The bookmakers have put the odds as 1/2 for Harry to win, ahead of Emily Atack at 5/1 and Nick Knowles at 10/1.

Harry moved his campmates when he talked about his enduring love for his partner, who he met in a pub in London when they were 17 and married four years later in 1967.

He melted viewers’ hearts as he revealed he calls her 10 times a day and likened his relationship to ‘winning the lottery’.

During a chat with Fleur East and Sair Khan, Harry, who has two sons with Sandra, said: ‘Even when I’m out I ring her 10 times a day.

‘She’s my life. I’m a bit scared, getting a bit older. I love her too much, if anything happened it would just kill me.

‘We just get on so well, I only want to be with her. I can never wait to see her. Jamie says “you’ve won the lottery”.’

Sandra confessed she is mortified by her husband’s romantic declarations in the I’m A Celebrity jungle in her first ever interview.

The footballer manager’s wife, 71, shared her pain of being parted from her husband and stressed she missed him ‘terribly’.

As Harry compared their marriage to ‘winning the lottery’, Sandra freely expressed it had been ‘hard’ watching him talk about their enduring love on TV.

Aside from the embarrassment, the I’m A Celebrity campmate’s other half also said Harry’s words of love have been ‘very flattering’.

She told The Sun newspaper: ‘It has been quite hard to watch him. He doesn’t realise everybody is hearing him say things and talking about me, it’s quite embarrassing really.

‘He doesn’t realise that all the public are seeing him say things, which is very nice. It’s very flattering.’

The mother-of-two recalled how the hardest point was when Harry called to say he was allowed no contact with her the week prior to entering the jungle.

She said: ‘I miss him terribly. I didn’t realise they take your phone off you in the first week before the show starts so he rang me to say, “I can’t speak to you anymore”. That was hard.’
